THE Royal British Legion of Devon is holding its annual Carol Concert on Saturday, December 18 at 7pm in St. Andrews Church, Plymouth.

This concert, featuring the Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir, will be in memory of the recent fallen and those not coming home for Christmas.

The 2010 Poppy Appeal is about helping the Afghan generation of the Armed Forces and their families – today and for the rest of their lives.

The Poppy Appeal this year appears to have exceeded all expectations with most areas of Devon enjoying an increase in their poppy collections.

An RBL spokesman said: 'The total for Devon last year was £935,000 and we spent in the region of £830,000 on welfare.'

The carol concert is free, with a retiring collection for the Poppy Appeal. All welcome.
