VOLUNTARY groups and parish councils in West Devon can benefit from a special offer from the borough council.
The council has a limited number of redundant PCs it is willing to give to the groups for the benefit of local communities. The computers are more than three years old and would come with only the basic operating system — Windows 95 or 98. No other hardware or software would be included. No support would be available.
It is expected the computers will become available over the next three or four months. Registrations of interest will only be accepted from parish clerks or secretaries of recognised voluntary groups.
