A SPECIAL course to help people get to grips with computers is due to begin in Sticklepath next month ? with a free introductory session on offer.
The Stepping On project course, organised by the adult learning department of Okehampton College, will take place in Sticklepath Village Hall.
The free introductory session is on February 12, between 6.30pm and 9.30pm.
Organiser Christine Munkenbeck said the course will give total beginners a hands-on introduction to computers and teach them how to access the various functions available for word processing.
Christine said: ?We are also offering people the opportunity to join a taster introductory course in the internet and e-mail.
?This course will help take the fear out of the internet and e-mailing ? the student will learn to get to grips with using a search engine and will find out how a web site works.?
Christine said there would also be a chance to learn about sending and receiving e-mails using Outlook Express software.
The cost of the subsidised two-week course is £12.
