SMALL businesses in West Devon have been invited to join a competition that recognises their entrepreneurial efforts over the past year. The Federation of Small Businesses Devon Business Awards are behind the event to congratulate the achievements of small businesses from Devon in a positive and rewarding way. There will be six categories in the competition, with a winner in each category and an overall county winner. Those taking part do not need to be an FSB member to apply. The competition will culminate with an awards dinner on June 6 which will be attended by shortlisted applicants, sponsors, partners, media, MPs and other invited guests. The award categories are for enterprise, innovation, service excellence, environmental responsibility, best new business and one for E-Business. Delia Colegate, the FSB's regional organiser, said: 'Please consider applying for these awards and don't think that your business has not achieved anything earth shattering and therefore you would not be considered. 'We are looking for businesses who are achieving small successes, giving good service and demonstrating good practice. Applications forms are available by calling 01803 322499.
