BUDDING young poets in Devon and Cornwall are invited to enter a competition in memory of Cornish poet Charles Causley. The competition, open to young poets between the ages of 11 and 16, has been organised by the Charles Causley Trust. It offers two awards to the value of £150 each for the winning writers. It is also backed by Cornwall and Devon County Councils, which will make a donation to the prize-winner's school if it is in their local education authority sector. It is the third year the competition has been organised. Entrants can submit one poem only that must be in English and unpublished. Submitted poems must arrive by June 30. Charles Causley, who died in 2003, aged 86, was one of Britain's foremost poets. He was born and lived almost all his life in Launceston.
