TAVISTOCK Musical Theatre Company are putting the final touches to what promises to be a night of colour, costume and cracking music at The Wharf next week.
Following their sell-out production of South Pacific, A Carousel of Musical Magic is the company?s biggest production ever and will feature nearly 40 popular numbers from shows like Oklahoma, Gigi, Cabaret, Chicago and West Side Story.
The first night of the show will be particularly special, as all profits are being donated to Cancer Research UK. The figure is being generously matched by Lloyds Bank.
Baritone Peter Clements said: ?Pat Mildren, our chairman from a few years ago, died of cancer and we thought this would be a nice gesture.
?The show is really an extravangaza, featuring all the well known songs from the big musicals ? it?s certainly the biggest thing we?ve ever done at The Wharf.?
The show will also feature the vocal talents of guest soprano Stephanie Kemble-Read from Plymouth, who shared the Plymouth Musical Festival Cup with Peter last year.
It promises a memorable ride from Paris in the 1900s, through England in the 1920s, Germany in the 1940s and America in the 1950s, taking in locations as far afield as Spain and Siam.
A Carousel of Music is at The Wharf from May 20 to May 22 at 7.30pm, with a matinee at 2.30pm on May 22.
