THE celebrant at parish communion was the Rev John Smart. Mr Derek Chivers was the organist and the lesson was read by Mrs Pat Carter. Messrs J Spry and C Baker were sidesmen. Evening prayer was conducted by Dr Marylin Livingstone, lessons being read by Mrs P Durston and Mr Chivers, who also played the organ. There is an evening prayer service, from the Book of Common Prayer, each Sunday at 6.30pm. This is a peaceful, traditional service and all are welcome. On May 9, there will not be a 6.30pm service as it will be held at Hillside Farm and will be a Rogation service. Again-all welcome.

RECENTLY, 24 ladies from the village and around, met in the Green Dragon Inn for lunch. Everyone enjoyed an excellent and varied meal, and a chance to have a good chat. The 'get together' was organised by Tricia Stock and it is hoped that there will be another lunch in due course.
