SINCE the Boundary Committee announced its preferred proposal for a single unitary authority for Devon together with community boards, there has been much discussion about how the concept for 28 community boards will be developed — and how they will function at a local level.

Devon Heartlands Community Forum has arranged a special forum meeting focussed on the proposal.

The guest speakers are Roger Grainger, senior community strategy officer for Devon County Council, who will explain the Community Board approach, and Nick Payne, who will give West Devon Borough Council's position.

The forum is on Monday, July 28 in Fairplace Church Hall, Okehampton (opposite the post office), starting at 7 pm — the meeting will be open to all.
