North Okes U15 s 24 Tivertons U15s 0 NORTH Okes continued their excellent form against a big and robust Tiverton side.The standard was set from the kick off with Jordan Lee bringing down one of the large Tiverton forwards in full stride. Gradually the forwards began to exert pressure with some superb rucking and mauling with Harvey Ratcliffe, Andy Evans and Pete Vernon all in excellent form. Concerted pressure took North Okes in their opponents? 22 and a series of drives saw Chris Knott go over wide out. Eric Bright made an excellent conversion. With Eric Bright, Joe Taylor and Paul Winthorpe beginning to form a strong partnership in midfield both defence and attack saw plenty of turnover ball. A lovely move in midfield and determined running through the forwards saw Chris Knott take on a ball at full pace on the halfway line. A great inside ball saw Eric Bright clear through to score under the posts. In to the second half the visitors launched a drive which took them deep into North Okes 22. A great turnover by Ollie Scantlebury saw the ball moved swiftly down the backs to Joe Taylor who delivered a lovely pass to Jamie Hignett on his own 22. Jamie, playing for the first time this season, beat his opposite number on the outside for pace to score in the corner. Tiverton did not give up and mounted a number of drives. Simon Fellows at full back for North Okes had an excellent game pulling off some great tackles and running the ball back to the opposition at pace. With Pete Gillard and Chris Pyle prominent in the loose it was left to Ollie Scantlebury to finish off the scoring supporting a series of handling moves to crash over in the corner. This was a great end to the game with a large crowd treated to a good game of rugby between two committed sides.
