EAGER volunteers are needed to help put the final touches to a Celtic Roundhouse being constructed at the Cookworthy Forest Centre, two miles west of Halwill Junction. South West Forest staff and volunteers have undertaken the work so far, but two open days are being held to give a final push to complete the project and ensure the house will be ready for the opening ceremony in June. The volunteer days are taking place on Friday, April 29 and Thursday, May 5. The work will involve daubing the walls with clay, animal hair and dung! There will also be the chance to help build a floor and fire pit. Volunteers are advised to bring warm and waterproof clothes which they don?t mind getting mucky, plus sturdy boots or wellies. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided but bring a packed lunch. Places on the volunteer days must be booked in advance.
