ANYONE looking for an opportunity to volunteer locally is invited to an open day at the Museum of Dartmoor Life next week.

The museum relies on volunteers to help run and maintain the building, ensuring it stays open.

In recent years, the museum has found it increasingly difficult to recruit volunteers, and is again appealing to the community for help.

There are a number of roles that need filling at the museum, from handy work and outdoor maintenance to welcoming visitors and roles with the Friends of the Museum Society.

On Wednesday February 29 between 10am and 3pm, the museum doors will be open for the public to have a look around the building, and talk with staff about potential volunteer roles.
