VILLAGES in Action is delighted to be hosting performances by the West Country's favourite contemporary dance company, C-Scape, with their new piece 'Below' this month.

Whether you are a dance fan or not this show is aimed at everyone who enjoys live performance by spectacular performers, interesting writers and innovative directors.

Inspired this time by the unique mining heritage of Cornwall, C-Scapes dancers combine great storytelling with breathtaking choreography which has a very broad appeal, especially to younger audiences and those who love to dance.

Told with humour, energy and great physicality, the show is based on a story by Anna Maria Murphy, formerly with Kneehigh Theatre, among others.

It tells the stories of people above and below the mine, the men that strain, sweat and sometimes die in their efforts to earn a living and the women who wait above, supporting, feeding and caring for the men.

C-Scape Dance was formed more than five years ago and it has become one of the leading dance companies in the South West.

Two dynamic dancers met as teenagers in Cornwall's county youth dance company and have returned to the area determined to bring dance to wider audiences.

They will be appearing at Lydford Nicholls Hall tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30pm, tickets from 01822 820345.

Refreshments will be available.
