THE fire and rescue service were called to an accident on Friday (December 17) on the B3260 at Meldon.
Two fire crews from Okehampton and the road rescue vehicle from Exmouth dealt with a car down an embankment that had one person trapped inside. The crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to release the casualty who was taken to hospital by ambulance.
l Both fire appliances from Okehampton were sent to a fire in a ground floor flat in Mill Road on Monday December 13 after a neighbour reported a smoke alarm sounding. Fire crews established there was nobody inside the smoke-filled flat and used breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.
