THIRTEEN swimmers represented Kelly College at the recent Open Meet in Plymouth. Between them they won seven gold, nine silver and six bronze medals, broke three meet age group records and eight Kelly Collge age group records — achieving 70 personal best times.
Thomas Brew (10), won 4 gold medals in the 200m IM, 200m freestyle, 200m butterfly and the 400m freestyle. In the latter two events he also broke the meet records for 10 year old boys. Melissa Murdoch (12), broke the girls 11-12 years old meet record — winning gold in the 200m backstroke.
Victoria Callow (14) won gold in the 50m breaststroke in a time of 36.20 while Will Luckham-Down (12) took gold in the 11-12 years 200m breaststroke in a time of 3.04.04, silver in the 100m freestyle and bronze in the 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 400m freestyle.
Victoria Moore (11) earned the girls 11 years Kelly age group records for the 50m fly and the 100m fly in times of 35.03 and 1.16.95. She also took silver in the 200m freestyle. Lawrence Oxborough (18) gained silver in the 100m fly and the Kelly age group record with a time of 59.22.
Benjamin Staig (12), took home three silver medals from the 200m IM, the 100m fly and the 200m backstroke.
Nathan Linden (11) was third in the boys 200m fly and Dan Gillard (13) won silver in the 200m breaststroke. Beth Watmore (13) won bronze in the 50m breaststroke and her 200m breaststroke. Felix Davies (16) was fourth in the 100m freestyle. Jacob Staig (10) had personal best times and was eighth in the 200m freestyle.
