THE Tavistock Community Sensory Garden is to receive a major boost this month as the Rotary Club of Tavistock and the Mount Kelly Concert Society are jointly hosting a concert of classical music performed by the internationally-renowned Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra of Europe.
The concert, to be held at Mount Kelly next Tuesday (March 14) at 7pm, is the first collaboration between Mount Kelly and the rotary club.
Rotary club president Catherine Bailey said: ‘We are incredibly pleased to be working with Mount Kelly on such a brilliant event, especially since the proceeds are to go to the sensory garden project.’
Julian Jenson, director of music at Mount Kelly, added: ‘As well as raising funds for such an important project, this is a red-letter day for music in Tavistock.
‘It is a real privilege to be able to attract an orchestra of such exceptional quality playing a programme of well-known pieces, including the Bach Violin Concerto. We look forward to many more musical collaborations with the rotary club.’
