SUPPORTERS from Okehampton were cheering as young Colin Marshall accepted his medal as one of the players in Aston Villa's FA Youth Cup winning side on Saturday.

The junior team, for which Colin plays centre mid field, won the cup after a 22-year break by beating Everton by a 4-2 aggregate.

Colin, 17, left Okehampton for a two-year contract with the club last year and has achieved amazing success in his first season.

His mother, Margaret, said it was wonderful to see the team win and her son accept his medal.

'I am really proud of him and it's nice to have him back home,' she said. 'I would like to thank everybody from Okehampton who came along to support Colin and the team.'
