WITH Jeff Babb, Mark Wall, John Gosling, Steve Shaw and manager Chris Abbott all unavailable Craig Smith called up Darren Halfyard and Richard Searle from the P& D side. Rob Hawkins and Chris Short returned after lengthy suspensions with John Hajiyanni making his debut for the Lambs

The Lambs started the better playing down the slope on a perfect playing surface and could have been two up inside 15 minutes but Halfyard shot wide in the first minute then saw his close-range stab go over the bar .

But the stand in striker made amends after 22 minutes when his pass allowed Lee Doncaster to put the ball over keeper Andy Avery.

How it remained at 1 -0 for the remainder of the first half remained a mystery as the Lambs created several scoring chances but could not convert them into goals.

Nathan Blamey?s ball over the top of the defence let in Doncaster again but this time his chip over the keeper settled onto the top of the net and from a sharp turn his shot deflected for a corner.

Paul Smith was then unfortunate when his free kick from just outside the area cracked against the crossbar with the keeper well beaten and Halfyard was again off target after a throw-in fell to him in the goal area.

The start of the second half saw Halfyard shoot at the keeper after Doncaster set him up in the first minute, Darren Babb head just wide from a James Cole corner and Doncaster shoot at the keeper when through on goal.

All of these missed chances proved costly for the Lambs as the home side came more into the game midway through the half. Mark Pope shot wide for them as he closed in on goal before they got on level terms with 13 minutes remaining. Cole?s foul on Darren Martin allowed Matt Moore to send in a high cross for sub Shaun Hooper to head past Andy Meeds for the Lambs to concede just their third goal against in ten league games this season.

But the Lambs were not going to be denied the three points as five minutes later they were ahead again. Smith?s pass across field found Cole coming forward from the halfway line and from 35 yards he sent in a shot that flew into the top corner of the net.
