A BIG coffee morning like no other is being staged this Saturday (June 28) in Mary Tavy to raise funds for both the Leukaemia and Oncology Units at Derriford Hospital. Kath Sydenham did not want to chose between the charities so decided to organise an event which will benefit both greatly. Knowing that many people have friends and relatives whose lives are touched by the terrible diseases the units combat, and the fantastic work they do, Kath decided to hold a 'Big Coffee Morning' to support both units and to include stalls, a car boot and a large raffle. David Hocking, the co-founder of Pals of Plymouth Oncology Outpatients and Chemotherapy (POOCH), said: 'Thanks go to Kath for the time and effort that has gone into organising this event, which highlights the exceptional work being done by both of these units at Derriford.' The Big Coffee Morning will take place at Mary Tavy Coronation Hall between 10.30am and 12.30pm. Donations are very welcome.
