THE most popular coffee morning ever held by the Friends of Bere Alston Surgery has raised a record amount for surgery funds.
The event, which included a variety of stalls and several raffles, raised £1,286 for equipment at the surgery.
Also attending were West Devon and Torridge MP John Burnett and his wife Billie, plus the prospective Liberal Democrat candidate for the constituency David Walter and his wife Pamela.
Tribute was paid to the Friends of the Surgery, who have raised so much money throughout the year and to doctors Ted Leverton and Neil Harmsworth, who drew the raffle prizes at the coffee morning.
Bere Valley Playgroup also tried a new fundraising venture recently, when they held a combined Bodyshop and jewellery sale in the parish hall.
