AS a result of well structured and committed coaching from Lewdown CC's ECB qualified coaches, 14 boys have been selected, after trials, to represent their county and district.

Winter indoor coaching at Parkland, Okehampton, was well attended by the under 13 and under 11 ages, which led into well structured Friday evening sessions, as well as private one-to-one sessions with club coaches. Many of the juniors are now playing first, second and third XI senior cricket for the club, which has contributed to both the first and second XI gaining promotion this season.

Ben Williams, Jack Williams, Billy Searle and Dan Fogerty have all played regularly for Devon this season and will now progress onto off season development squads.

Callum Worth and Leon Horn have represented Devon B and will shortly be starting a 30 week programme of intense coaching.

Tallan Burns, Dan Butler, Tom Pearce, Tom Pengelly, Harry Williams, James Weekes, Kian Burns and James White have all been selected for their respective age groups and will join their development squads over the winter. The girls' trials will be held soon and we are hopeful that our talented group will progress.

Club spokesman Brenden Worth said: 'The hard work and dedication of the coaches, allied with the desire to improve from the children, has produced results.

'There is a wonderful club culture, where we all want to get better and have fun, which allows for all abilities to take part and to excel.'
