TAVISTOCK Peace Action Group hopes to send two coaches to a national anti-war demonstration taking place in London next month.
The move follows the success of peace activist Bruce Kent?s public meeting in Tavistock last week.
The group are organising transport to the anti-war rally in London on Saturday, February 15.
Martin Mowforth, a co-ordinator of the group said: ?This demonstration comes at a critical time. It is predicted to be the largest peace demonstration this country has ever seen and the peace group is doing all it can to give as many people the chance to go.
?This will help to show the strength of opposition to UK involvement in any war on Iraq. We have already filled one coach from bookings taken at the public meeting and so we are planning to send a second coach.?
Tavistock Peace Action Group is made up of people who are concerned in general about issues of justice and peace and is not affiliated to any political or religious grouping.
The peace group will also have an information stall, about its campaign against war on Iraq, in Tavistock?s Pannier Market between 9am and 4pm on Saturday, February 1.
Anyone interested in booking a seat on the coach should call Martin or Lorna Legg on 01822 617630 (daytime) or 01822 833934 (evenings).
