TAVISTOCK Young Farmer's Club wowed judges for the second time winning the Devon County Cup in the National Young Farmers' Club Drama Competition.

The Tavistock YFC returned home from the second round of the competition in Paignton, proudly holding the Devon County Cup.

The club beat another five teams in this round by performing their choice of a one act play 'Some Mother's Son' written by Mark Rees. Nearly half of the talented cast were under 18 and six of them were taking part for the first time in this annual competition.

The first world war drama set in a field hospital was performed with conviction by the cast. All three judges gave the team a very high score.

The cast with directors Jayne Medland and Liz Moir will now go forward to represent Devon at the South West Area round to be held in Weymouth in March.
