A SECTION of the A3072 between Sampford Chapple and Sampford Courtenay is due to be closed to through traffic next month, to allow water mains rehabilitation works to take place. The closure will begin on Monday November 14 and will last approximately two weeks. Alternative routes for general traffic and heavy goods vehicles will be signposted. St James Street in Okehampton will be closed to through traffic for three days next month, to allow new connection works to be carried out by South West Water contractors. The road will be closed from Wednesday November 2. The C545 road between North Tawton and Bondleigh is due to be closed to through traffic for around six weeks during the next few months, to allow bridge reconstruction work to take place. The closure period will begin on November 21 and end by April 13 next year. The alternative route is via Culm Cross, Cadditon Cross and Bondleigh Bridge and vice-versa. In all three cases, access to properties will be maintained as much as possible throughout the closures ? any problems should be reported to the local service office on 01837 53640.
