Whitchurch v Tiverton
A DANK and misty day saw two teams in a closely fought contest. Both had options to win. Batsmen on both sides made solid starts but none could go on to make a match winning score as the conditions took their toll.
Batting first Tiverton scored at a steady rate of four runs per over to score 207 with the wickets shared equally amongst the bowlers.
In reply Hall and Churchill had an opening stand of 83 which promises well for the rest of the season. They both fell at the same time but Meadows steadied the ship and, with a succession of partners, saw Whitchurch through to a draw.
Next week Whitchurch face a tough match against local rivals Yelverton while the 2nd XI host Dartington.
