CALLINGTON Town Council has taken on responsibility for St Mary's Close and The Old Clink building from Cornwall Council.

Over the last year the council has also taken over the public toilets in New Road and the cutting of the grass verges.

The Old Clink building, which was the former jail, was refurbished by Cornwall Council but has never been occupied as potential office space. The town council hopes that by taking it over it will bring this facility back into use.
