SPREYTON resident Cleave Collins is taking part in the eight mile Mens Walk in Exeter next month and has already raised over £200 for Hospiscare.
On March 12, Mr Collins is doing the walk in memory of his wife Eve, a former Times community correspondent, who died last year after a long battle with cancer.
Mr Collins is a member of the Waie Inn luncheon club at Zeal Monachorum and when the members of the club learned of Cleave’s walk, they all sponsored him.
It is not the first time Cleave has walked for charity, as in 2014 he raised £1,500 for Hospiscare. Last year he raised £450 for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust by growing and selling bunches of sweet peas and dahlias. The year before his flowers raised £430.
Cleave said that both charities needed all the help they could get as they did so much good and thanked all the guests at the Waie Inn for their generosity and kindness.
