THE Eggesford Pony Club triathlon was again dominated by the mini teams of the Spooners and West Dartmoor Pony Club. Alex Pillage and George Scott were in an U9s mixed team and came first by some 400 points. Alex, who had the best shoot and best swim, came first individually out of a class of 24 while George came fifth. Lance Ashton's mixed team came first with Lance gaining best shoot and second individual position. Lily Spry and Lucy Scott, also in a mixed team came first, with Lily third individually and Lucy fourth. The shooting success of the Spooners team is testament to the expert coaching of Gill Allenby, whose patience and good humour when hordes of children descend on her house with guns is much appreciated!
