KELLY College hockey team achieved a clean sweep of victories over Plymouth College in their local derby last week.

The 1st XI played away at a blustery Bull Point in Plymouth. The first half was an even affair, with Will Grainger making some important saves in goal, but Kelly went in at half-time 2-0 up, thanks to two superbly struck short corners from Andrew Reader.

Kelly raised the tempo of their game in the second half and some flowing hockey saw them score four more goals without reply. Two more came from short corners, a testament to the practice done on this routine, and the 6-0 win was deserved recognition for the hard work done in training.

Chris Anderson completed a hat-trick, with Devon U21 player Nick Boot-Handford scoring the other goal.

Six was the number of the day as the Kelly 2nd XI, playing on the Kelly Astro, also notched up six goals, after falling behind to an early Plymouth strike.

Kelly Seconds played some of their best hockey of the season as Matthew Treweek scored four goals and Alfred Jolly two in this 6-1 win. The Kelly Junior teams were not to be outdone by their elders and also scored six goals in a 6-0 win at U14 level.
