BERE?S players had to recover fast, having returned from their tour to Boournemouth, and met a good and young Launceston side.
Launceston soaked up Bere pressure and quickly countered. Playing with a three man defence Bere were caught on the break as a gaping hole opened up down the right. Will Westlake brought a player down for Alan Yendell to score from the spot.
Bere were caught by exactly the same break and Liam Tilley scored. Will Westlake scored an own goal off his back as everyone missed the ball on the line.
Bere reverted to a four-man defence but this did not stop Launceston. A wayward back header saw Tilley react fastest to score.
The second half saw Bere attack hard, but the Clarets coped well and countered quickly.
A loose ball in the box resulted in Steve Daymond firing home.
Both keepers handled the ball well and had to be on their toes. Dave Mallet?s shot went in off a Launceton player for 4-2, but the damage was done in a 20-minute spell in the first half.
