Carlsberg South Western League Tavistock 3 Truro City 3 AFTER a month of away games that turned out pointless for the Lambs they returned to Langsford Park on Saturday and produced a great comeback to earn a vital point. Appeals for a penalty were waived away for them after nine minutes when Mark Conday was sent tumbling by keeper Andy Avery and the visitors replied a minute later to open the scoring. Richard Young went down the right wing, cut in and placed the ball between Andy Meeds and the near upright. The Lamb had three attempts to score after a corner but each time it was blocked and finally Lee Fox shot over before Truro increased their lead after 25 minutes. Young raced onto a crossfield ball, Meeds was off his line to challenge, but Young got past him to send it goalwards. Despite a heroic attempt by Craig Hodge to head clear it bounced over him and into the net. Within five minutes of the second half the visitors increased their lead and it looked like game over. Young raced clear to smash the ball past Meeds. But from the kick-off Sean Cann forced a corner and James Cole?s kick was met by the onrushing Lee Fox to send a powerful header past Avery to give the Lambs a lifeline. The Lambs started to dominate play with Will Westlake going close with a header. A fine run by James Steer saw his effort clip the crossbar with the Truro goal having a charmed life. On the hour, from a Lambs corner, a defender headed back onto his own crossbar and Conday smacked the rebound against the bar again before the ball was cleared. After a foul on Steer a quick free kick from John Gosling caught the visitors? defence napping for Conday to run on and send the ball across goal and in at the far post. Meeds did well to keep the Lambs in the game with just three minutes left when he saved from danger-man Young. But the Lambs were not going to be denied a share of the spoils ? in time added on they got their deserved equaliser. Conday had been fouled on the by-line and when Gosling?s free kick was not cleared there was Fox on the edge of the area to volley home and give relief and joy to the Lambs and leave the visitors in disbelief.
