IT was a busy week for members of Yelverton Bowling Club.

On Monday evening the ladies played a home friendly match against City Bus which they lost. But it was an enjoyable evening with a supper afterwards.

Tuesday saw the men play in the County Trophy against Devonport Park where they recorded a victory.

On Wednesday a re-arranged match against Plymstock was played and Yelverton lost by one shot.

In the Lyttleton Cup the men lost by seven shots against Unity Park. This game was played on Thursday.

The three mixed friendly matches which were played over the weekend resulted in a loss against Retired Civil Service on Friday, a win over Chagford on Saturday and a win over Okehampton on Sunday.

Ladies? captain Liz Broughton at Central Park won through to the semi-finals where unfortunately she was beaten. Another competition arranged at Central Park for the lady captains, secretaries and treasurers resulted in Liz winning the first round but losing in the second.
