WEST Devon churches are all set to throw open their doors this weekend.
On Saturday, September 13, Devon Historic Churches Trust will be opening the doors to many of its churches to raise vital funds in order to continue its work in supporting and repairing churches throughout the county.
Some of the West Devon churches who will be welcoming all visitors include: St Michael's in Chagford; Holy Trinity, Gidleigh; St John's, Hatherleigh; St James' Chapel and All Saints, Okehampton; St Thomas a Becket, Sourton; St Andrew's, South Tawton; St Michael's, Spreyton; St Mary's, Sticklepath; the Methodist church in Whiddon Down; St Gabriel, Postbridge; St Michael and the United Church, Princetown; United Methodist, Bere Alston; Broadley Chapel, near Lewdown; Christchurch and St Michael de Rupe, Brentor; St Andrew's, Buckland Monachorum; St Paul, Gulworthy; St Petrock, Lydford and St Eustachius, Tavistock.
All these churches will have refreshments available throughout the day.
The day is to celebrate Christian architectural heritage as the churches' trust aims to preserve and protect Devon's historic churches.
