RESIDENTS of East Cornwall can start the New Year on a green note by recycling their Christmas trees. Caradon District Council will be collecting Christmas trees free of charge from the district?s towns and villages over the next week. The trees will then be composted and transformed into soil conditioner for farmland. Trees will be collected from Callington and Kelly Bray today (Thursday) and Albaston, Calstock, Gunnislake, Harrowbarrow, Metherell and St Ann?s Chapel on January 19. All you have to do is put your tree out on the appropriate day at the usual collection point for your household refuse. Caradon will also be collecting garden waste in pre-paid sacks on these dates.
