Truro I 1

THE start was delayed to give the rain a chance to ease and allow the all-weather pitch time to drain, but even so playing conditions at the start were atrocious.

Truro hockey team adapted more quickly and put Okehampton under pressure in defence. A cross from the right wing skidded across the Okehampton circle evading the defence and was deflected past the keeper for the opening goal.

The second half saw Okehampton attack with purpose. At the other end, the defence of John Jarvis, Mark Clapham and Ian Titchener was rarely troubled.

Okehampton worked desperately to try and equalise but their efforts appeared to be fruitless until they won a short corner. Steve Sage gave Chris Luxton a crisp pass and he drilled in the equaliser from the narrowest of angles.

This Saturday Okehampton play St Austell at home.
