DEVON?S top professional Chris Gill returned from a successful attempt to gain his Asian tour card to sweep to a three shot victory over Stuart Disney and Jon Langmead at a windy Yelverton Golf Club. Gale force winds kept scoring high and made the game seem nearly impossible to all players, but Chris stuck to his guns and returned a fantastic round of 74. His game belied the conditions and he was full of confidence after returning only last Sunday from Asia. Chris flew out to Singapore on New Year?s Day and successfully came through stage one at Johorbarau with scores of 74, 71, 73, 71 to finish in 12th place. It was then on to the final stage of Tour School where scores of 71, 72, 71, 71 bought him home in 40th place. The top 40 from an entry of 580 gained fully exempt cards for the forthcoming season. The tour consists of 29 events throughout Asia and is the third highest ranking tour in the world after the USPGA Tour and the European Tour.
