SWEET success is being celebrated in Okehampton as one of the region's premier businesses have moved to a larger premises. Browne's, established in 1994, is a producer of luxury hand-made chocolates who have a huge customer base spanning the UK. In order to move their business to the next level, the owners have now leased a significantly larger premises which will allow the company to produce more brands, improve their existing products and improve health and safety. Wendy White, managing director of Browne's, said: 'I am delighted with the new site and the additional space is making a significant difference to the volumes of quality product we are able to supply to new and existing customers. 'I am excited by the prospect of deepening our presence in the UK retail market and widening our geographical customer base. February was one of the busiest months of the year with Valentine's Day and we are already feeling the benefits of the new premises.' Browne's employs 20 people and this number is expected to increase this year as the business looks to take full opportunity of its increased space. The business has enjoyed a series of accolades in recent years including Taste of the West Food and drink gold awards in 2004 and 2005. Success continues to come their way with the John Lewis store and the Scottish Parliament among the new contracts that they have been awarded. Browne's have also launched a new range of chocolates called Moor, taking its name from Dartmoor, to target the multiple retail sector. Browne's were able to move to their new premises with assistance from the NatWest bank. Neil Solway, from NatWest Bank, said: 'I am delighted for the Browne's team, it's an example of a real success story for the Devon area.
