BLUE Bell Mel, Dartmoor Railway?s recently refurbished diesel engine, will be hauling a fish and chip special train from Okehampton Station on the evenings of July 27, August 10, and August 24. Freshly cooked fish and chips will be collected by passengers at the station buffet before they board the train to Meldon. The meals will be specially packed to keep them hot, so they can be eaten either on the train journey, or out in the open by the Meldon Viaduct overlooking the spectacular views across the West Okement Valley. There will be two trains each evening ? one leaving at 6.30pm and the other at 7pm. Refreshments will also be available at the Meldon buffet coach.
