CHILDREN in Princetown will be given the opportunity to say what they would like in their playpark at a consultation event on Saturday.
KIPPER (Kids in Princetown/Playground Equipment Regeneration) has money to spend and wants the children to decide what it should be spent on.
The group was set up last year after a village survey highlighted a lack of things to do for young people. Members agreed to revamp the playpark next to the school where the current equipment is over 15 years old.
Funding from the Devon Network of £14,000 was secured by KIPPER last year and £5,000 of that was spent on a recycled bike ramp.
Chairperson of the group Angela Williams said the remainder of the money was to be used this year and it would be up to the kids to decide.
?The bike ramp is being used but not as much as we had hoped so we felt a proper consultation with the children would help us to install just what they want,? she said. ?We would like to see as many children and parents from Princetown as possible on Saturday.?
The event will be held in the Family Centre in Princetown from 2pm to 4pm and there will be tea, coffee, squash and biscuits.
