THE South Devon Decorative and Fine Arts Society will be launching the first of their 'Church Trails' at St Eustachius Church today (Thursday) with a class of children from Tavistock Junior School. 

Created with 8 to 12 year olds in mind, Church Trails are part of a national initiative set up by the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts. 

The trails aim to take participants on an exciting journey around a local church, paying close attention to the architecture, history and furnishings. Each trail comes with a questionnaire and answer sheet so the children can see how well they have done at the end.

The aim is to encourage them to explore the building, to learn about it and enjoy the experience so that they are inspired to visit other churches.
