CHILDREN at Exbourne Primary School had a special visitor at their morning assembly last Thursday.

Kerry Friend from Okehampton Foodbank came to the school to talk about the the Foodbank, how they work and the service they provide for members of the community.

Pupils got to look through the average weekly food parcel, learn about the voucher system and ask Kerry questions about the Foodbank.

After her talk, Kerry received a donation of £30 collected at the school's annual harvest festival service in Exbourne Church, as well as the produce collected by pupils and their parents for the harvest festival. A further £30 collected at the service will be donated to Christian Aid.

Kerry said: 'It is very generous of the school to make such a donation, and we are very grateful for such donations.'
