KIND-HEARTED children at Okehampton Primary School have helped poverty stricken families in Africa after raising money for Send a Cow.

Pupils from Kitty Tor class helped organise a mini farmers' market that coincided with the PTFA Christmas Fair held in December.

The purpose of the farmers' market was to encourage pupils and staff to support local food producers.

Children in Kitty Tor class made Send a Cow Christmas cards to raise money for the charity, which helps poor families in Africa by providing livestock and training to relieve poverty.

Combined with money raised through the school's advent tree, children donated £33 to local Send a Cow ambassador Jenny Reynolds.
