AN East Cornwall club donated several hundred pounds to a cancer charity recently.
President of Callington Social Club Vic Palmer presented a cheque for £669.24 to Lynda Thomas of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The money was raised through a variety of fundraising events, including a bumper raffle which was kindly supported with donations from local shops and business within Callington.
Marie Curie nurses provide high quality nursing care in the homes of terminally ill patients, day or night, 365 days a year.
The service is completely free of charge to the patients and their families. The charity relies heavily on generous voluntary donations to continue this care.
