ANYONE who had a part to play in this year's Neal Cousins Memorial Day in Okehampton is being invited to the Pretoria Vaults on Sunday when organisers will hand over their biggest cheque ever to the Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF.)
The fourth event to remember young sports star Neal, who died from leukaemia at the age of 23, raised £7,500. Now all the outstanding cash has been collected, chief fundraiser for the ELF Malcolm Roker will accept the cheque on the charity's behalf.
In previous years the day has raised in the region of £6,000 but it received an extra boost in 2001 with an auction, which included a donated helicopter ride by charity patron Noel Edmonds and a balloon flight, and charity draw.
The main event on the day, however, is always a head-to-head between the town's football and rugby clubs.
Organising committee member Andrew Luxton said people were amazingly generous in giving donations, time and effort to the event and he would like to see as many of them as possible at the presentation which takes place at 4pm.
