THE 2004 Bere Alston Carnival Queen and her attendants were chosen at a family disco on Saturday week.

More than 20 girls entered and the judges found their task very difficult.

They eventually selected Chelsey Lockheart aged 13, to be this year?s queen and Emily Gay, 8, with Charlotte Wilkie, 7 to be her attendants.

The girls will all have hand-made gowns presented to them in time for their first official engagement which will be the Bere Alston Carnival Procession on Saturday, May 1.

They will also be present at the Fun Day on Monday, May 3 at the Recreation Grounds.
