THE boys had to step aside recently when Cpl Charlotte Marlow of Tavistock's Air Cadet Squadron was picked as Cadet of the Year.
She was presented with her award by the group's new Wing CO Mike Symons at Crelake Barracks.
The squadron transferred to Plymouth and Cornwall Wing last month and Mike welcomed Tavistock to his Wing adding he was pleased to acquire such a strong viable unit.
He and Squadron CO John Olver served as cadets in Plymouth Wing 25 years ago. The Squadron's newest officer Phil Newcombe, also an ex cadet, was on his first award parade.
