South Molton Seconds 7

Okehampton Seconds 17

OKEHAMPTON's second string travelled to South Molton hoping for an improved display.

In the early skirmishes they put a lot of pressure on the home defence, but failed to cross the line.

Then Adam Curtis burst through with a diagonal run to score in the corner.

Later in the first half Dave Mugglestone broke the South Molton defence to score a try which Adam Cook converted.

The Okes looked to be heading for a big win, with the forwards pushing South Molton back at a great rate. But it all looked too easy and everyone seemed to think that they could get on the scoresheet.

Sadly with mistakes being made, they were brought down to the home side's level, which was scrappy, and there were no further scores before half-time.

The second half began with Okehampton on the attack. A double 'miss-move' in the opponents' 22 led to a dropped pass, and South Molton hacked on to score a converted try.

Okehampton's superiority kept the home side at bay, and a fine diagonal kick by Curtis was seized upon by Charlie Ewen to score a good try to make the final score a comfortable win.

This Saturday the Seconds are at home to Wadebridge.
