A CHARITY leg wax held at Venus Beauty and Hair salon in Tavistock has raised £170 for The Mary Budding Trust — a charity which supports local children with disabilities.
Brave John Worrall volunteered to get his legs and underarms waxed by beauticians last month in order to raise money for the charity.
Kelsey Douglas, office manager at the salon, said: ‘We auctioned off John’s legs and underarms, all for a good cause.
‘Clients and the chair of the trust came down to support the charity and to have a good giggle at John.
‘John sat like a champ and Kirsty our beautician was a true professional, even through the tears of laughter!
‘The charity wax raised over £170 but our full total will be announced in the New Year when our final collections are in.’
Each year Venus Beauty and Hair supports a local charity and this year staff and customers have been supporting The Mary Budding Trust which supports children aged 11 and under with disabilities and additional needs in the vicinity of Tavistock and areas covered by the West Devon Borough Council.
