IN day-long heavy rainfall over one hundred members participated in Saturday?s competitions at Tavistock Golf Club. The event was in support of selected charities such as St Lukes Hospice and Tavistock Mencap Society and the day raised over £3,500. In the evening Captain Graeme Dennis led the prize giving, raffle and, with a duly professional touch, the very successful auction. In the 3 ball Stableford the first trio was Shaun Getson, Kevin Rich and Max Clarke on 81 pts, in second Dave Burge, Shaun Keily and Jon Gynne with 79pts and in third Rod Hillman, Gary Davies and Richard Smith also on 79. The top ladies trio was Maggie Hillman, Norma Thewlis and Margaret Burn. Sue Coles was ?nearest the pin? amongst the ladies and John Ashman in the men?s group. Amongst the ladies Nicky Gawman held the ?longest drive? position and Dan Lowe with the men.
