Duchy Premier Bere Alston Utd 2 Boscastle 5 BERE?s defence had all the gear and no idea. First goal Steve Piper out-muscled with no danger. Steve Daymond and Ross Hann scored for Bere as chance after chance was wasted. There was one way traffic in the second half which saw Bere?s strike force firing more blanks. They allowed a free kick to pass over them for Boscastle?s fourth. Lightning struck again as a similar ball led to Boscastle?s fifth. This week home to Tywardreath in Jeffrey?s Cup, 2.30pm kick-off. Padstow Reserves 1 Bere Alston Reserves 2 BERE travelled to Padstow on the back of four straight league wins and looked as if they were still in their cars in a largely uneventful first half, apart from a spectacular penalty save from Montgomery after O?Hare scythed down the Padstow forward. Bere started the second half in the same way as the first and were eventually shocked into having to play well once they conceded the lead through a stunning free kick which rocketed in to the top corner. Finally Bere started to play and after a neat bit of skill, Robinson fired across the keeper into the far corner to make for a tense last ten minutes. Bere piled forward with renewed enthusiasm and they reaped their rewards when Williams was chopped down inside the area after a good run. Robinson confidently slotted home from the spot to keep Beres 100% record going.
