DARTMOOR Gliding Society is holding an open day at its base near Brentor next month.
Entry to the event, on Saturday, May 5, at Burnford Common is free and all are welcome.
Organiser Chris Matten said: 'Gliding is a sporting activity available to a wide age group and we really want to raise awareness of it.
'Our club members will be on hand all day to chat about their passion and answer questions about gliding and flying lessons.
'We will be providing the opportunity for trial gliding flights and the flight simulator will also be available so people can actually have a go and there will be some fascinating static exhibits.
'We are even hoping for a flypast from a Spitfire and a Hurricane — weather permitting!'
There will be collection boxes on the day for donations to Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
Chris said: 'We aim as a gliding club to support any aviation related charities or valued aviation service. Devon Air Ambulance, of course, fulfills both of these criteria.'
The open day starts at 9am.
